International Research Experiences in Design of Next Generation VR Simulation based Training Approaches

This is a new project (first year is 2022) focusing on research involving collaborating with researchers in both Germany and France. The research focus is on designing advanced 3D Virtual Reality simulation approaches based on Human Centered Computing (HCC) principles, incorporating algorithm-based planning methods with application contexts in smart health and manufacturing. The design approach takes into consideration participatory design, perception and cognitive attributes, which will lead to more efficient and user centric simulation environments.

This project (first year 2022) seeks to provide exciting and innovative research experiences in Europe involving collaborating with researchers in both Germany and France.

Students (both undergrad and grad students) will spend 6 to 8 weeks in June and July of each year at research labs in either Germany or France to pursue research involving design of advanced 3D Virtual Reality simulation approaches based on Human Centered Computing (HCC) principles, with application contexts in smart health, manufacturing and other domains.

Stipends will be provided along with coverage of housing, food, transportation and health insurance expenses.

Interested undergrad and grad students (citizens and non-citizens) are encouraged to apply. Please send an email to j.cecil@okstate.edu for more information.

A brief introduction to HCI concepts can be found in the attached PDF file.
