Syllabus Template

You can find the syllabus template to the right. This template can guide the course creation process or help you transition a face-to-face course to an online version.

 

Many instructors use the first day of class to go over important details of course expectations. For an online course, we recommend creating a video for each major section in the syllabus to post in the online classroom. Requiring an action item during the first week of class for reading the syllabus could help ensure the students get this important information. Ideas for action items include a syllabus quiz or a signed declaration completed by the students. Additionally, you could hold live webinars throughout the first week where you talk through the aspects of the syllabus. Post the recorded webinars in the classroom for students who cannot attend.
