Sociology - the scientific study of society, focused on the social lives of people, groups and societies at all levels of human interaction.
The Department of Sociology at Oklahoma State University is nationally recognized for its excellence in research and commitment to undergraduate and graduate education. Our ResearchAt the Department of Sociology

At Oklahoma State University, sociology students are extending the borders of learning past the traditional classroom experience and transforming their college experiences through a variety of forms of research, scholarship and creative endeavors. Our highly active faculty have received numerous awards at the university, state and national levels for research. In addition to publishing academic monographs and peer reviewed articles in a wide variety of scholarly journals, various members have received national grants, international recognition for publications and served as editors or advisory board members for national and international journals.
