Dyadic Inter-Brain Signaling (DIBS)

The DIBS project is a collaborative study between Oklahoma State University and Laureate Institute for Brain Research.  The whole study will enroll 100 parents and their 13- to 17-year-old teenagers. What's unique about this collaborative MRI study is that we use a technology called hyperscanning, which means that parents and teens interact and talk to each other while they're both being scanned. This study looks at parent-child communication and will help us better understand how parenting affects a teen's ability to overcome adversity. DIBS is funded by the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) and Center for Integrative Research on Childhood Adversity (CIRCA).
