Come and enroll into Geomicrobiology this Fall (MICR 4990/MICR 5990, 3 credits)!

Join us on a journey to the deepest ocean and snottiest caves. Don't miss the boat! Learn how microbes control geochemical processes and how geochemistry influences microbes on a journey along dep-sea sediments, hydrothermal systems, oil and gas reservoirs, agricultural
soils and caves. We will also work 'hands on' on a project where you will learn about microbiological techniques like sampling, DNA extraction, PCR, GC-analyses and anaerobe culturing on the hunt for microbes in sediments that produce electricity.
