Center for the Humanities
Center for the Humanities appoints first director
Dr. Jennifer Borland has been named the first director of Oklahoma State University’s Center for the Humanities.
What is the Center for the Humanities?
The Oklahoma State University Center for the Humanities aims to increase the visibility
of humanities research on campus while also fostering the production of new interdisciplinary
projects. Its mission is to provide an inclusive and collaborative environment to
initiate new interdisciplinary research, foster dialogue, and engage communities.
This is achieved through panels and lecture series as well as a new research group
fellowship program. The CH also facilitates communication and networking on campus
and beyond.
Research Group Fellowships
Our new Humanities Research Groups Fellowship program launched in 2022. The research
groups are made up of individuals across disciplines with the intent to incubate new
collaborative humanities scholarship in key, cutting edge areas such as digital humanities,
medical humanities, and environmental humanities. The call for applications is posted
annually in March, and we encourage applications from all disciplines.
