The Research Leaders is a peer ambassador organization within the College of Arts and Sciences. Research Leaders support the growth of undergraduate research and creative scholarly activity across diverse disciplines within CAS and throughout OSU.

Research Leader Duties

  • Share experiences and interests in research/creative activity in CAS
  • Present about research opportunities in courses and student organizations
  • Represent CAS Research at events
  • Provide feedback on current/proposed programming or offerings
  • Attend monthly cohort meetings throughout the year
  • Serve as a Research Leader for one academic year

Eligibility

Guide undergraduate research in new directions
  • CAS major, enrolled-full time
  • At least one semester/summer of experience with faculty-mentored research in CAS 
  • Supportive and welcoming to students from all backgrounds and identity groups
  • Willing to describe your research experience to general audiences in a clear, positive, and enthusiastic way
  • Willing to serve as a resource about how to become involved in undergraduate research or creative activity

RLs use their diverse perspectives to advance the goal of enhancing awareness, participation, and inclusion in research and creative activity throughout the College of Arts and Sciences and the OSU community. Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year will open in February 2025.
