Eric David Frei (he/him) is an Assistant Professor of Performance Practice in Music Direction at Oklahoma State University. For the past fourteen years, Eric has delighted audiences in a dynamic range of styles from musical theater and opera to pop and rock. From 2016-2022, Eric worked as a collaborative pianist and vocal coach at Oklahoma City University. Prior to his work in Oklahoma, Eric served as the répétiteur and assistant conductor for Tri-Cities Opera in New York. His past work as a music director and vocal coach includes Legally Blonde, In the Heights, Songs for a New World, The Music Man, Spamalot, Evita, Sister Act, Sweeney Todd, Trouble in Tahiti, Madama Butterfly, The Barber of Seville, Don Giovanni, and many more. Eric remains an active performer and teacher at summer music festivals including The Seagle Music Colony in upstate New York, the Taos Opera Institute, and The Oklahoma City University Performing Arts Academy.
