The Statistics Department was part of the Division of Mathematical Sciences for several years. Over 50 years ago Dr. Folks was named the first Statistics Department Head when we became a department separate from the Mathematics Department. We wish to honor Dr. Folks' contributions to the Department and the growing field of Statistics. Friday's events will include some invited memorials and an evening banquet. Some of Dr. Folks' family will be in attendance also.

 

In addition to memorial activities and introduction of alumni on Friday, we believe that one of the best ways to honor Dr. Folks' love of statistical research is to invite attendees to prepare a poster of recent statistical research for exhibit and discussion.

Depending upon the response rate, we may also be able to accommodate some technical presentations. Please send an abstract for your poster or presentation to Mindy McCann  (mindy.mccann@okstate.edu).
