Department Funds
Statistics Department Fund
Fund # 22-43500—The Statistics Department Fund supports department activities, such as departmental seminars and workshops.
Statistics Laboratory Fund
Fund # 22-43700—This general purpose fund benefits students through the College of Arts and Sciences.
Retirement Gift Fund
Fund # 22-44900—The Retirement Gift Fund was set up to purchase gifts for statistics faculty upon retirement. The latest project was in honor of Dr. Larry Claypool which were the bronze geese installed on the west side of Willard Hall where the bench with a plaque for Dr. Leroy Folks and the redbud tree planted in honor of Dr. David Weeks were installed.
Scholarships
Chesapeake Energy Corporation Math and Sciences Scholarship
Fund # 22-88830—This scholarship fund benefits one student from each of the STEM departments: Statistics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
P. Larry Claypool Undergraduate Statistics Scholarship
Fund # 22-52900—Named for the long-time undergraduate advisor, the P. Larry Claypool Undergraduate Statistics Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate student.
Awards
Carl Marshall Award
Fund # 22-41100—The Carl Marshall Award is presented to the outstanding Ph.D. student. Dr. Marshall was one of the original founders of the department and was the first department head.
David L. Weeks Award
Fund # 22-32100—The David L. Weeks Award Fund was established in April 1994. This award is to designate and honor an outstanding statistics graduate student in Experimental Design.
J. Leroy Folks Award
Fund # 22-56800—The J. Leroy Folks Award was set up to honor distinguished alumni of OSU Department of Statistics. The first award was given to Franklin A. Graybill at Leroy Folks’ Retirement Banquet in 1998.
Robert D. Morrison Award
Fund # 22-80500—The Robert D. Morrison Award is presented to the outstanding M.S. student.
