Internships
Any OSU student participating in a summer internship may be eligible for one of three scholarships from the College of Arts and Sciences. Each scholarship helps offset the cost of housing, travel and living expenses for students participating in unpaid internships. Contact our internship coordinator to apply. These applications are due April 1.
Course Credit
Any student interested in interning and receiving course credit should contact our internship coordinator to set up an appointment to learn more about these student opportunities.
Independent Study in Social Media Management
Each semester, the Political Science Department recruits two to three students for a special section of POLS 4990: Social Media Internship. Students will gain hands-on experience in image management, assisting in promoting the public image of the department to a broader audience. Class projects and responsibilities include:
- Helping to manage the department’s Facebook page and other departmental communications.
- Helping to prepare departmental brochures and other public relations material.
- Researching internships, grants, scholarships and other student opportunities.
- Compiling a final media strategy presentation detailing how to better connect with political science students and alumni.
To apply, submit your application by emailing a copy of your most recent resume or CV to Dr. Hansen. Include why you are interested in the position. If you have any specific skills or past experiences that would help prepare you for this class, be sure to mention those as well.
