Research Focus Areas

Quantum Optics and Information Science

Quantum entanglement is an important aspect of quantum physics and promises next generation secure communication and computation. We focus on developing theoretical tools for generating, controlling, and measuring entangled states. Our approach requires us to study fundamental aspects of quantum entanglement and the connection between interference and entanglement.

Imaging and Structure Reconstruction

Imaging and structure determination of objects have immense applications in physics, chemistry, biology, and medicine. We focus on combining concepts and techniques from classical and quantum optics to determine structure of a wide class of objects and to enhance resolution. We also study random media, which are characterized by correlation functions rather by refractive index or the absorption coefficient.
