Bachelor of Music in Music Education
Once accepted by audition into the OSU Greenwood School of Music (GSM), you may choose to pursue a Bachelor of Music degree with Vocal or Instrumental Certification. The Oklahoma K-12 teaching license is granted after completion of both the degree and the required teacher certification exams. OSU Music Education graduates continue on to become leaders as public school teachers and university instructors all over the country.
Bachelor of Music in Performance
The Bachelor of Music in Performance is a concentrated course of study for those wishing to pursue careers as soloists, orchestral and band musicians, opera and concert vocalists, college-level applied music teachers, conductors, chamber musicians, recording artists and studio musicians, church musicians, and other avenues as a professional musician. Those who earn the Bachelor of Music in Performance are prepared to enter quality graduate programs or pursue the musical career of their choice.
Bachelor of Science in Music Industry
The Bachelor of Science in Music Industry degree serves students interested in careers in music production, music publishing, live entertainment, and merchandising. Students take courses in musicianship, music technology, music entrepreneurship, as well as classes related to general business.
Bachelor of Arts in Music
The Bachelor of Arts in Music comprises a balanced program that encourages excellence in performance while providing experiences that foster understanding of musical languages, historical developments, and compositional styles. The core curriculum in music theory and history provides the foundation for advanced study of specialized subfields in music (or other disciplines) at the graduate or professional level.
