Bio
Mette Flynt is a public historian. She specializes in the histories of twentieth-century America, the environment and North American West. Her book manuscript, "Becoming America's Ski City," explores the connections between recreation and urbanization on Utah's Wasatch Front. Mette's public history projects involve many methodologies and subjects. She has collaborated with others on litigation support, oral histories, exhibit curation, administrative histories and more. Ranging from Navajo voting rights to the American Revolution, these projects challenged her to understand and interpret histories outside her primary research fields. In each case, she focuses on crafting histories with the communities she studies.
