CDIS Certificate
With the demand for speech-language pathologists expected to grow 18% by 2026, having a post-bac certificate in Communication Sciences and Disorders in addition to your bachelor’s degree gives you a world of career options. These include speech-language pathology graduate programs, audiology graduate programs, English as a Second Language programs, speech-language pathology assistants, and special education positions.
Overview
The Communications Sciences and Disorders Post-Baccalaureate Certificate is designed for students who are interested in applying to a graduate program in speech-language pathology or audiology. After the completion of a bachelor’s degree in another field and the CDIS Post-Bac Certificate, students will fulfill the prerequisites needed for a majority of speech-language pathology and/or audiology graduate programs, as well as the basic science requirements mandated by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Additional Requirement:
25 hours of guided observation by a certified speech-language pathologist or audiologist
Admission Requirements and Deadlines
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or plan to finish a bachelor’s degree by time of completion of post-bac certificate requirements. Students must complete 18 hours — or half of the total required hours — at Oklahoma State University in order to fulfil residency requirements and receive a certificate from OSU.
Application deadlines: Students may apply any semester to begin working on classes required for the certificate.
