Cultivating Opportunities that Lead to Equity
Dr. Cole's lab research examines health disparities and health behaviors among American Indian/Alaska Native (Indigenous) populations, including:
- Alcohol and Substance Use
- Exercise and Eating Patterns
- Mental Health
They also investigate social and individual determinants of health among AI/AN (Indigenous) peoples from both resilience and risk perspectives.

Click here for information about the OSU Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. Applications are due December 1st, 2024, for the 2025-2026 admissions cycle, and GRE scores are NOT required. The OSU Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program is both APA- and PCSAS-accredited.
Students from underrepresented backgrounds and first generation college students are encouraged to apply.
Undergraduate Students (RAs)
Opportunities may include:
- Recruiting, screening and running participants;
- Conducting literature searches;
- Coding and entering data;
- Assisting with organizational tasks;
- Receiving mentorship on professional development topics and guidance on applying to graduate school;
- Leading independent research projects; and
- Opportunities to present research at regional and national conferences (for advanced students).
Undergraduate students should have an interest in research, be self-motivated, and be able to work independently. Preference will be given to students who meet the above requirements and are willing commit to Dr. Cole's research lab for one year. Students from underrepresented backgrounds and first generation college students are encouraged to apply.
