Micro-Credentials at OSU
What is a Micro-Credential
Micro-credentials are short-term learning credentials can be earned through completion of a course, workshop, internship or apprenticeship, project or other learning experience that will provide the participant with a focused skill or competency. Oklahoma State University–Stillwater offers non-credit micro-credentials to showcase learning, skills, and achievements designed to build a resume, upskill in the workforce, or provide a picture of professional capabilities. Micro-credentials validate knowledge through assessment and evaluations to make participants more marketable to employers, creating a competitive advantage in today’s workforce.

What is a Digital Badge?
Upon completion of a micro-credential, participants receive digital badges—a web-based image that contains metadata about a course (context and verification purposes). These badges can then be shared online, added to a LinkedIn or digital portfolio, or linked within a resume. OSU utilizes Badgr as the digital badge issuing system. Participants will be emailed access to their digital badge upon course completion and can find further instructions on downloading/uploading below.
