I recently graduated from the University of the Ozarks with a Bachelor of Science in Biology focusing on ecology and a minor in Sociology. During my time at the University of the Ozarks, I had the opportunity to pursue my creative hobbies, such as photography and podcasting, while also nourishing my interests in ecology. My passion for biology began at a young age, thanks to the ecological awareness instilled in me by my teachers back home in southern California. This awareness fueled my purpose in ecology, inspiring me to pursue biology as an undergraduate student. Biology is fascinating in all respects, though I must admit that I find fungi among biology's most fascinating organisms. Since learning about the kingdoms of Eukaryotic life in introductory biology courses, my interest in fungi has grown, becoming a primary driver in my educational and professional pursuits. With this opportunity to participate in the ON-RaMP program, I hope to gain critical technical skills and knowledge to improve my chances of attending graduate school for mycology. Ultimately, I aim to attend graduate school for mycology, conduct research, and teach mycology at the collegiate level.
