Spirit Vocal Ensemble

Spirit Vocal Ensemble is a small ensemble specializing in the jazz genre. The group regularly sings for events around campus. The Spirit of OSU Jazz ensemble sings jazz standards such as Wonderful World, It Don't Mean a Thing (If it Ain't Got That Swing), Girl from Ipanema, and more. It is conducted by Dr. Tony Thornton.

 

Spirit Vocal Ensemble received the Gold Medal and advanced to the Grand Prix as the winner of their division of the highly competitive Queen of the Adriatic Sea International Choral Festival in Rimini, Italy. The competition was adjudicated by jury members from Italy, Spain, Malaysia and Russia. The group has also performed at OkMEA.

 

Spirit Vocal Ensemble meets spring semester only. The group rehearses Monday and Wednesday from 1:30-3:15 PM in room 123 Seretean Center for the Performing Arts.
