Andrew Doust

Andrew Doust received his Bachelor of Science with Honors from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Diploma in Secondary School Teaching from the University of New England and a Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Melbourne. After his Ph.D. he was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and the University of Florida.
He started at Oklahoma State Department in the (then) Department of Botany in 2007, and was head of the department (now Plant Biology, Ecology, and Evolution) from 2017 to 2021. He and his collaborators research the evolution of domestication, plant developmental genetics, and the use of plants in teaching at the school and college levels, and have received multiple grants through the National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, and state funding agencies.
