Mario Borunda
Associate Dean, Academic Community Engagement
Mario Borunda is Associate Professor of Physics and Associate Dean, Academic Community Engagement for the College of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses how charge moves in materials. The way charges move is critical to several technological advancements.
Borunda has also worked to make the physics field and university life more inclusive. He served on the American Physical Society (APS) Committee on Minorities from 2018 to 2021; the last year, as committee chair. He was elected to the executive line of the Forum on Diversity and Inclusion (FDI) of the APS and currently serve as the chair-elect.
