OR, The Medieval Manuscripts In Philadelphia And Why They Matter Today

Bibliotheca Philadelphiensis is a recently-completed CLIR-funded project to digitize and catalog 475 medieval and Renaissance manuscripts from Philadelphia-area institutions. To celebrate the project, Dot Porter is curating an exhibition in Spring 2020 at the Free Library of Philadelphia. In her talk, Porter will introduce the BiblioPhilly project and discuss the plan for the exhibit, which has the aim of bringing medieval manuscripts closer to a modern audience.

About Dr. Porter
Dot Porter is the Curator of Digital Research Services in the Schoenberg Institute for Manuscript Studies, focusing on the digitization and visualization of medieval manuscripts. Porter holds Master's degrees in Medieval Studies and Library Science. She was previously the Associate Director for Digital Library Content and Services at the Indiana University Bloomington Libraries, and has held positions at the Digital Humanities Observatory at the Royal Irish Academy and the Collaboratory for Research in Computing for Humanities at the University of Kentucky.
