Travel for Undergraduate Research in the Humanities and Arts
The Center for the Humanities is sponsoring a Philanthropete fundraiser! We are raising
funds to support a new award for undergraduate research travel in the arts and humanities.
If you want to see more student research in these areas, please consider giving or
sharing the link below! The fundraiser runs through November 29. Thank you!
We are passionate about is increasing undergraduate research opportunities for students
in humanities and arts fields – those in disciplines such as English, History, Languages,
Philosophy, and the Visual and Performing Arts. While many opportunities exist for
students to conduct and present their research nationally, limited resources exist
to fund such travel—especially for students in these majors.
The benefits of such participation are significant, for both OSU and the students
themselves. Students benefit from participating in such undergraduate research programs,
building confidence and developing many skills that contribute to career readiness. They also raise the profile of OSU creative research when they attend such conferences. OSU strongly encourages student
researchers to participate in conferences at the national level; we believe that if
this is truly a priority, such travel must be better supported. We want to celebrate the amazing contributions the humanities and arts make to improving the
world, and to involve eager undergraduates in that important endeavor!
