Making Parchment in the Present and the Past
Listen to parchment maker Jesse Meyer as he speaks about and demonstrates the production of parchment and leather made from animal hides. He will provide insights into both historical methods and sustainable practices for today. A second event will be a publicly-oriented hands-on workshop. These events speak to art forms of the Middle Ages and book history as well as animal studies, environmentalism and beyond.
