Laura Navarrette

Bio: Laura Navarrette is a M.A. Public History student studying Mexican-American history and the importance of the history of music in society. She received her B.M. in Music Studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio and minored in Bicultural Studies and Mexican American Studies. Her research will focus on the importance of Mexican American identity in the 1900s, especially in the South of the United States of America, and how music played a key role in keeping their history alive and relevant to the present day.
