Bio
Stevens Johnson is a Ph.D. student in the Computer Science department at Oklahoma State University, working under Dr. Johnson Thomas specializing in the intersection of quantum computing and machine learning. His research focuses on leveraging Variational Quantum Eigensolvers (VQEs) for hybrid neural networks, with prior work in cybersecurity, including developing an Intrusion Detection System using machine learning for ROS. As the former President of the Computer Science Graduate Student Association (CSGSA), he has led initiatives in career development, coding competitions, and industry networking. With experience as an instructor and teaching assistant in UNIX programming, data structures, and quantum computing, he is passionate about mentoring and STEM education.
