Clubs and Organizations
Below is a summary of the active clubs at the Department of Computer Science. If you don't see a club that interest you, contact Cara Brun, for help starting one.
CS Graduate Student Association
CSGSA serves as a vital platform for computer science graduate students, providing a forum to express ideas, pose questions, and address concerns regarding their academic and professional experiences. It offers a supportive community where students can engage with peers and faculty, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to personal and professional growth. Through CSGSA, students have the opportunity to advocate for improvements, propose initiatives, and contribute to the overall enhancement of the graduate student experience in computer science.
Association for Computing Machinery
ACM aims to promote the free interchange of information about Computer Science among faculty, specialists, and students. As of the 2024-2025 academic school year, we meet twice a month on Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. These meetings can range from tech talks from students to company presentations, social nights, workshops, and networking events. ACM also hosts competitions each semester with prizes. Everybody is welcome to participate in our events as no knowledge of programming is needed. If you are interested in getting involved or keeping up to date with us, you can check out our website https://cs.okstate.edu/acm. You can find our meeting notes at our GitHub page https://github.com/OKStateACM. For more information, please contact the officer team at acm.cs@okstate.edu.
Video Game Developers Club
VGDC meets on Thursdays. No experience is required and levels of experience welcome. Share resources and learn about various techniques employed in developing video games and to how implement them effectively in group projects. This includes user interface tutorials, using Unity and unreal development engines, theory and game design.
International Student Organization
The International Student Organization (iSo) is the umbrella organization for 20 area clubs that represent 20 cultures from around the world. We are open to all international students attending Oklahoma State University or any American students. We also represent more than 1700 international students and scholars from more than 100 countries around the world. We hold approximately 8 events throughout the year that we encourage not only the international community at OSU to attend, but all students, staff, and faculty, as well as the Stillwater community.
