Nick Bormann, MFA
Professor/Department Head
Nick Bormann arrived in 1969 as a professor of graphic design and coordinated the development of the Graphic Design degree option. Bormann served as Department Head from fall 1998 through spring 2005 at which time the Art Department was operating three state-of-the-art computer labs for instruction in graphic design, illustration, computer graphics, and studio fine arts. Nick felt fortunate to work with such talented and dedicated faculty and staff, as were his colleagues in the department. But perhaps the most rewarding of all experiences was that of observing students mature as artists and designers while developing their design, craftsmanship, and presentation skills and graduating with top-quality portfolios.
