Scholastic Oklahoma Region Gold Key Winners 2021
2021 Scholastic Gold Key Exhibition
February 24 –March 3, 2021
The Gardiner Gallery of Art is pleased to present the Oklahoma Art Region Gold Key
Winners in the 2021 Scholastic Gold Key Exhibition. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
is the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative
teens, grades 7 –12. Founded in 1923, for nearly a century, Scholastic has inspired
bold ideas throughout the country. Notable scholastic visual art alumni include Andy
Warhol (1945), Kay WalkingStick (1948), Mel Bochner (1958), John Currin (1979) and
Paul Chan (1992).
The Alliance mission is to identify students with exceptional artistic and literary
talent and present their work to the world through the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
The awards give students opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication and
scholarships. Students’ submissions are blindly judged by leaders in the visual and
literary arts. Of the 275 students across the state of Oklahoma that submitted work,
24 individual students received the Gold Key Award. The Gardiner Gallery of Art at
Oklahoma State University is excited to showcase work made by these young Oklahoma
artists.
