Amanda Sandoval is a proud first-generation daughter of immigrants and a dedicated public servant with a deep commitment to equity and community empowerment. 


She began her educational journey at OSU-OKC, earning her associate's degree before graduating from OSU in 2018 with a bachelor’s in political science.

 

While at OSU, Amanda was actively involved in student leadership and service through SGA, TRiO, the RISE Program, Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Multicultural Greek Council, the Hispanic Student Association, Order of Omega, and the Mortar Board Honor Society. 


In 2019, Amanda made history as the youngest city councilor and the first person of color elected to the Bethany City Council. Throughout her term, she championed youth initiatives and strengthened community engagement, earning recognition as a NextGen Under 30 honoree and receiving the Women Lead Award. 


She went on to earn her master’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2021, where her capstone focused on increasing Latino/a/x/e voter turnout in Oklahoma City. Amanda also completed Leadership Oklahoma’s LOYAL Class 16, continuing to grow her impact through civic leadership. 


In early 2025, Amanda was elected Mayor of Bethany with 51.36% of the vote, becoming the first Latina elected mayor in Oklahoma. Her campaign helped increase voter turnout in the city by 6%. 


Beyond elected office, Amanda serves on the boards of La Luz Organization, the Oklahoma Municipal League, various OKMAR Committees, and Neighborhood Alliance. She is also an active member of the Junior League of Oklahoma City and a proud participant of the Signature Program Class 43, using every platform to advocate for inclusive leadership and increased community access. 


Professionally, Amanda is a bilingual REALTOR® who specializes in helping first-time and Spanish-speaking homebuyers achieve their dream of homeownership. 

 

Above all, Amanda is guided by her faith, her love for family, and a deep-rooted passion for her community. She is married to her love, Carlos, and together they are proud parents to their son, Carlos Jr. Amanda cherishes spending quality time with her family and remains committed to building a more inclusive and connected Oklahoma.
