Colonel Marcia Booker Walker graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1982 and earned a commission in the United States Air Force through the ROTC program.
Colonel Walker was competitively selected as one of just three women nationwide to
attend U.S. Air Force Undergraduate Navigator Training. She became part of the first
generation of women to graduate from USAF flight training and is the first female

Throughout her military career she has held numerous operations and logistics positions
at the squadron, group and wing level including KC-135 instructor/evaluator navigator,
wing emergency management officer and logistics officer.
Colonel Walker has over 1,200 flying hours in the KC-135, T-37 and T-43 aircraft,
and she has served over 29 years on active duty and in the USAF Reserves. She retired
in 2011 from Oklahoma’s Tinker Air Force Base as military deputy for the Aircraft
Sustainment Directorate.
After retirement, Colonel Walker continued wearing her Air Force uniform as the senior
aerospace science instructor for the Carl Albert High School Air Force Junior ROTC
program. She served in that role for seven years before retiring from teaching in
2018.
In retirement, Colonel Walker continues to give back to her community by volunteering
on Tinker AFB, substitute teaching and serving with Zonta International, the Autumn
House Senior Living Center and the Oklahoma State Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi.
Colonel Walker resides in Choctaw with her husband and fellow OSU Air Force ROTC graduate,
Colonel (Ret.) Steve Walker.
