John Alberts

B.S. Sociology '87

John Alberts is a 1987 graduate of OSU with a Bachelors in Sociology. He received his Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1990. Alberts started his career at the Kay County District Attorney’s Office. While living in Ponca City, he met the love of his life, Carla. During this time, he served as President of the Kay County OSU Alumni Association.

 

In 1995, the couple relocated to Yukon, Oklahoma, where he served the City for almost 20 years. From 2000-2018, he served on the Yukon City Council, Planning Commission and Park Board. He served as the Mayor of Yukon six times and was nominated as the Oklahoma Mayor of the Year. He is currently a member of the Yukon Economic Development Board.

 

In 2017, after 27 years of practice in Oklahoma City, Alberts moved his law firm home, founding Bedlam Law in Yukon. Carla helps manage the firm and working in Yukon allows Alberts to participate in the school and activities of his son, John II. John, Carla and John II enjoy spending time with family, trips to the family farm, cheering on Thunder Basketball and frequent trips to Stillwater to root for the Cowboys.
