CAS Scholarships
Many scholarships are available for prospective freshmen, transfer students, current students and continuing students. The College of Arts and Sciences offers three levels of scholarship competitions:
- Students are eligible for College Level scholarships within the College of Arts and Sciences after completing 12 hours at OSU. Some exceptions may apply. See specific scholarships for criteria.
- Some Departments offer Departmental Level scholarships for students whose major is housed within that specific department. For a complete list, see below.
- At the University Level, students are automatically considered based on their OSU admission application. For current and continuing students, please visit OSU Scholarships and Financial Aid.
- Other Funding Opportunities
College-Level Scholarship Competition
The College of Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for currently enrolled CAS undergraduates who anticipate continuing as full-time students.
The CAS scholarship application for continuing students is housed in the Slate portal, and available each year in December, with a deadline in early spring.
This application will ask for all the information you need to apply for our college-level and department-level scholarships. The questions you are asked will be based on your declared major; some CAS departments require additional department-specific questions, while others do not. This means that your friend's application might look different than yours, depending on their major.
While the application is not required for college-level scholarships, it is to your advantage to complete it anyway to help us determine which scholarships you qualify for. All CAS undergraduate students who are enrolled full-time, have already completed at least 12 OSU hours and have at least a 2.0 graduation retention and a 2.0 OSU GPA will be considered automatically. The selection process will consider academic merit, financial need and other donor-specified factors.
The annual selections are made in February for the following academic year. Students who receive a scholarship will be notified via email in late February.
Awards
Individual awards vary in amount. Recipients will receive one-half of the award in the fall, and one-half in the spring, pending continued full-time enrollment in the College of Arts and Sciences. Students are considered for all awards, but may receive no more than one award.
