Connect with Other Students
Our engaging student organizations offer students a variety of paths to develop academically,
professionally and socially. Our clubs travel nationally each year to compete against
other universities in philosophical debates.
Featured Scholar
Exemplifying the Teacher-Scholar Model
Dr. Blake-Turner has recently published both in prestigious journals (e.g. "By the
Devil's Own Lights" in Ethics) and on the scholarship of teaching and learning (e.g. "Learning to Fail", coauthored
with fellow Department member Joanna Lawson, forthcoming in an edited volume). They've been invited to give talks at the University of Oklahoma and NYU Abu Dhabi
this academic year.

Philosopher in Residence
2025—Luvell Anderson
Each year, the Friends of the Forms philosophy club hosts a special "Philosopher-in-Residence"
program. We invite a philosopher of national reputation to come for three to four
days, give two lectures, and meet informally with students and faculty.
