Gary Stewart Core Research Facility

Geology Core Research Facility
Named After Professor Dr. Gary F. Stewart
More than 60 years have passed since Dr. Stewart earned his bachelor's degree on this very campus. Now students are walking into a building that bears his name. The Gary F. Stewart Core Research Facility, was dedicated on November 16, 2019. Dr. Stewart has taught several generations of students, who all describe him as a great educator, kind hearted, humble, a great listener, a deep thinker, and an icon among all of his graduates. Dr. Stewart helped many students who are doing very well for themselves in the oil and gas industry. Dr. Stewart continues to work with graduate students at Oklahoma State University, using his experiences to teach practical and theoretical approaches.
Boone Pickens School of Geology
Faculty and students now get to carry out active research in this state-of-the-art facility. This facility serves as both a place to store and analyze core samples and is also equipped with a grinding and polishing table, along with an area for thin section preparation. There are offices and a conference room, along with work and clean up stations. This facility has been a huge success and we continue to grow here at BPSoG with the help of great people such as Dr. Gary F. Stewart.
