Graduate Scholarships
In addition to graduate teaching assistantships (GTAs) and graduate research assistantships (GRAs), we offer several scholarships to our current graduate students and some limited for undergraduate seniors. Announcements are shared with the students once a year and the scholarships are awarded at our annual departmental event in April. Announcements are shared either at the end of the fall or early spring semester. Deadline is typically at least 1-2 weeks after the announcement is made. Applicants will submit their resume, a personal statement and recommendation letters. Sometimes additional materials may also be requested.
This list is subject to change. In addition to the scholarships mentioned below, new scholarships could be available if donors wish to contribute to Communication Sciences and Disorders scholarship funds. Each year, procedures and scholarship applications are made available to all eligible students by the Communication Sciences and Disorders Honors and Awards Committee Chairman.

Communication Sciences and Disorders Endowed Scholarship
The recipient must be a senior accepted into the OSU graduate program for the subsequent fall semester in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at OSU. Selection criteria will include a 3.25 GPA (undergraduate).

Jeannette Sias Endowed Chair in Speech Pathology
This scholarship is given annually from the Sias Endowed Chair in Speech Pathology to a master’s or doctoral student in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field to a student that has shown exceptional ability in research, technology, or clinical treatment of a speech disorder. Requirements include an application to the CDIS Awards Committee, one-page letter stating qualifications and future goals, attendance at the annual award banquet, and one letter of recommendation. Nomination from your research or clinical mentor (CDIS Faculty) is required.

Leone L. and William H. Monroe Scholarship
The recipient must be enrolled as a second-year graduate student in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Oklahoma State University. Selection criteria will include academic records and practicum performance.

Oklahoma ABLE Tech Scholarship
The recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Oklahoma State University. Selection criteria will include involvement in clinical practicum (submit five demos, submit one success story, help a client/family access at least one device from the ABLE Tech loan system).

Ronald and Julie Schaefer Endowed Scholarship
The recipient must be a second-year graduate student at OSU and must have graduated from a high school located in the State of Oklahoma.
The Ronald and Julie Schaefer scholarship is for a first-year graduate student.

Carpenter Early Intervention Endowment Fund
The recipient must be enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences at Oklahoma State University. The scholarship will be awarded to a junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing a degree in Speech Pathology. The recipient must have demonstrated effective intervention skills, a minimum of 2.8 GPA, and must exhibit financial need.

Tetnowski Family Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded yearly to a master's or doctoral student in speech-language pathology (or related field) who has an interest in stuttering, aphasia, or diversity issues. Research or presentation in one of these areas is preferred as evidenced by publication, presentation of ongoing research, such as a thesis, dissertation, or sponsored project. Requirements include an application to CDIS Awards Committee, a one-page letter stating qualifications and future goals, attendance at the annual award banquet and one letter of recommendation.
