Join the Motor Speech Lab
We would love for you to be a part of our research team. There are many ways in which you can be a part of the Motor Speech Lab. Funding opportunities are available for interested students. Contact Dr. Ramesh Kaipa regarding funding opportunities.
As a master's student:
Students in our graduate program have an option of completing a master's thesis in lieu of the creative component (comprehensive examination). Graduate students are welcome to contact the lab director if they are interested in pursuing a master's thesis in the area of motor speech production (or closely related areas). The results of the thesis will be presented at state/national/international conferences and submitted for publication in peer-reviewed journals. This will be an ideal option for graduate students who are eventually planning on completing a doctoral degree. If you are interested in this option, please contact Dr. Ramesh Kaipa during the first semester of your graduate program.
As an honors student:
Students wanting to complete an honors thesis can contact Dr. Ramesh Kaipa to discuss their area of research interest. Some of the recent honors theses have systematically reviewed treatment evidence for a variety of speech and language disorders. The outcomes of these projects are also submitted for publication in peer-reviewed journals and presented at state/national conferences. Students can also opt to complete their honors credits by being involved in small projects or assisting the lab members in data collection.
As a student volunteer:
Students can also choose to volunteer in the Motor Speech Lab. If you sign up as a research volunteer for an ongoing project(s), it is expected that you would be involved with that project until its completion.
As a participant:
We are currently looking out for participants aged 18-40 years, if you are interested to be a participant, please contact Dr. Ramesh Kaipa.
