CAS hosts the Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition for undergraduate students. The
Graduate College produces 3MT events for graduate students. These competitions—complete
with cash prizes—allows CAS students to display their hard work, gain confidence and
practice communicating their findings to a general audience.
The National Institutes of Health accepted the grant proposal of Microbiology's Dr. Matthew
Cabeen and awarded his research team $1.7 million over five years to study how a bacterium
senses and responds to stress.
The renewal of a five-year $1.2 million federal grant means more American Indian students
at Oklahoma State University will have the opportunity to pursue advanced degrees
in the mental health field.
