It is my pleasure to welcome you to the School of Media & Strategic Communications (SMSC) at Oklahoma State University! Whether you are joining us for the first time or considering our program as a prospective student, I want you to know that you will find a supportive community focused on empowering you to achieve your goals and make a positive impact as a strategic communicator, no matter which of our amazing programs you choose.
Our school brings together top faculty and industry professionals to provide a dynamic, career-focused education centered around our core values of creativity, ethics, leadership and professionalism. Our curriculum is designed to build real-world skills in areas like public relations, advertising, marketing, journalism, broadcasting, sports media and more while challenging you to think critically and strategically. You may find communication courses elsewhere, but I promise you nowhere else will prepare you with essential skills and a digital portfolio that is competitive with actual professionals when you leave. There’s a reason why people want to hire our graduates!
During your time with us, you’ll have access to state-of-the-art technology and facilities, opportunities for hands-on experience through internships and projects, as well as a chance to build your professional network.
