Undergraduate Research Opportunities

The Henry Bellmon Office of Scholar Development and Undergraduate Research can enrich your college experience while helping you apply for a variety of academic and leadership awards, including the Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell, Gates-Cambridge, Goldwater, Truman, Udall and more scholarships. The office provides informal advising, a debate and writing skills class and other development opportunities. The office is a recognized regional and national leader for the number of its successful student award winners and innovative programs for OSU students.

This office also provides a number of research opportunities, most notably through the Freshman Research program, which gives students an early chance to learn top-notch research methods and receive guided research experience alongside an OSU faculty member. Students may also participate in the Wentz Research Projects, a competitive program for undergraduate students who want to continue research at the highest level. Undergraduate research is proven to be a key element for student success, and OSU's programs are well-known around the country for their outstanding instructional quality and financial support.

Beyond research, the Office of Scholar Development also hosts a summer study trip to Cambridge, England each year in which 20 outstanding students take an OSU course at Magdalene College. Due to a sizable endowment, we offer significant scholarships to help minimize student costs for the trip.

Whatever career path you choose, Oklahoma State University has the resources to help you maximize your potential.
