Welcome to Paraiba, Brazil! Located in the Northeastern part of Brazil, Paraiba has Atlantic Forest, beautiful beaches, and the unique Caatinga landscape. We begin in Joao Pessoa to consider urban development and explore the city’s beaches and protected Atlantic Forest. From there we travel to Picui to gain insights into agroecology, archeology, and issues related to environmental and social justice. We travel from Picui to Sousa and end our trip in Campina Grande during the start of festival season.

Cost Details

The costs include tuition and fees, travel insurance, lodging, most meals, excursions & transportation. The costs do not include flight, passport, VISA, and any miscellaneous costs a student might wish to incur.

Enrollment Instructions

All applicants must have an appointment to travel on Study Abroad courses. You can begin your course application but you will not be able to proceed without an appointment. Contact Shane O'Mealey in the Arts and Sciences Outreach office to set up an appointment and be accepted into the program.
