African American Public History
Travel Dates: June 2 - 8, 2019 (Summer)
Course Dates: May 13 - July 5, 2019
"Visit Washington D.C. to study African American public history! We will study the theory, methods, ethics, and practices of public history, primarily within museum settings. Sites will include NMAAHC, the Library of Congress, and the African American Civil War Museum. While in Washington, you'll get to meet with various curators and examine public exhibits on topics in African American history."
The costs include tuition and fees, housing, excursions and some transportation, and most meals. The costs do not include airfare, and any miscellaneous costs or travel a student might wish to incur.
All applicants must have an appointment to travel on Study Abroad courses. You can begin your course application but you will not be able to proceed without an appointment. Contact Shane O'Mealey in the Arts and Sciences Outreach office to set up an appointment and be accepted into the program.
