At first glance, Stillwater looks like a sleepy town. However, a more careful look reveals a vibrant city that plays host to a university with a national and international reputation for excellence. Stillwater is the Payne county seat and 10th-largest city in Oklahoma with a 2017 estimated population of 49,829. As the state’s land grant institution, Oklahoma State University (OSU) offers a wide range of degree programs that prepare students for employment in business, government and other professional opportunities. OSU’s mission focuses on high-quality teaching, research, and outreach. In terms of its statewide impact, OSU serves more than 35,000 students across its five-campus system with approximately 24,000 enrolled on its Stillwater and Tulsa campuses.
