Taline Da Silva
Graduate Teaching Assistant Curriculum Vitae
Bio
Taline Alonso grew up in a small town in Brazil and received a B.A. in Social Communication in 2020. She is currently in the Master's Program in Sociology here at Oklahoma State University, and plans to also pursue her Ph.D.
For her graduate research project, Taline is deeply interested in understanding
Brazilian Evangelical Women from a sociological and contemporary perspective. One
particular topic she is very intrigued by is the pathogenic aspects of religious indoctrination
and how these aspects affect Evangelical women's personality, identity, and mental
health. She is also interested in understanding, through ethnographic research as
well as direct and participant observation, how and which structures of religion (such
as spirituality and tradition) prevent women from being placed in prominent positions
in the church.
