Curriculum Vitae

I am a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and a senior researcher at the Oklahoma Archeological Survey.  My research focuses on the archaeology of what is now the southeastern and midwestern United States, particularly on late precontact (ca. AD 1000-1500) Mississippian and ancestral Caddo people.  Current field projects are centered around Spiro Mounds and related sites in eastern Oklahoma, although I also have a project at Monte Albán, Oaxaca, Mexico.  I have published numerous articles and book chapters and recently co-authored The Ritual Landscape of the Late Precontact Eastern Oklahoma:  Archaeology from the WPA Era Until Today (2019; University of Alabama Press).
