French Minor

Brief description of the subject:
French is an official language of both the UN and NAFTA. In fields such as architecture, fashion and culinary arts, it often provides a decisive advantage for those wanting to be successful their profession. Even in the legal and medical fields, a solid foundation in French can only facilitate the process of a highly demanding education.

Brief description of the minor:
The French Minor provides students with analytical tools useful for a wide variety of career fields. They can tailor coursework to address topical interests such as comparative literature, cinema studies or international business, or a regional interest in francophone Africa, Southeast Asia or even Cajun culture.
Requirements for minor:
Complete all lower-division course work (all 1000- and 2000-level classes) or its equivalent in French, followed by 6 hours of upper-division credit in courses taught in French. You will need a GPA of 2.5 in French with no grade below ā€œCā€ in all upper-division French courses to receive the minor.
