China today is a land of diversity, characterized by striking regional variations. Chinese is the number one most-used language in the world.
Brief description of the minor:
The Chinese minor at OSU is designed to give students majoring in any field an opportunity to gain a substantial introduction to Chinese language and literature. It also equips students with a basic foundation in Chinese culture necessary to successfully interact with Chinese people. Business majors often pursue a Chinese minor. Students in the Chinese language minor program are strongly encouraged to study abroad in China through a program at OSU.
Requirements for minor:
Complete all lower-division course work (all 1000- and 2000-level classes) or its equivalent in Chinese, followed by 6 hours of upper-division credit in courses taught in Chinese. You will need a GPA of 2.5 in Chinese with no grade below ā€œCā€ in all upper-division Chinese courses to receive the minor.
