More than 100 alumni and friends in the College of Arts & Sciences attended the 2009 Spring Alumni Event in April at the Oklahoma Golf and Country Club. The reception bought together alumni from all 24 of the College's departments.

Matt Caves, president of the College's alumni board and a 1997 alumnus, welcomed the group with Regents Professor Peter M.A. Sherwood, dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, also providing remarks. Special guests included Michael D. Lorenz, dean and professor of the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, and Velda Lorenz, and Ann Hargis, First Lady of OSU. Members of the OSU Jazz Ensemble, led by Jonathan Martin, provided entertainment.
